What kind of food does El Grano de Sal serve?
We serve Mexican cuisine influenced by Oaxaca, central Mexico, Spain and different family traditions that are part of our history. Our menu focuses on homemade flavors, dishes meant for sharing and kitchen specials that were first prepared at home before becoming part of the restaurant.
Do you serve traditional Yucatecan food?
Not specifically. Although we live in Mérida and naturally include some regional influences, our concept explores a broader side of Mexican cuisine through homemade recipes, botanas, moles, tlayudas and dishes from different regions of Mexico.
Where is El Grano de Sal located?
We are located in Mérida Centro at Calle 58 #475 between Calle 55 and Calle 53, near Santa Lucía, Paseo de Montejo, Palacio de la Música and Calle 60.

The idea behind El Grano de Sal is to share different dishes and enjoy them with a good drink in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We are inspired by the tradition of botanas, long conversations around the table and the experience of discovering Mexican flavors together.
What are your opening hours?
We are open Tuesday through Saturday from 1:30 pm to 9:00 pm and Sundays from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
Is the restaurant quiet?
Yes. Many of our visitors come looking for a calm and welcoming place to enjoy dinner without rushing. We want guests to feel comfortable, relaxed and truly welcomed.
Is El Grano de Sal family owned?
Yes. The restaurant was created and is still personally attended by the family who developed it. Many of our dishes were first prepared during family gatherings before becoming part of the menu.
Are the dishes meant for sharing?
Many of them are. The idea of botana and placing different dishes at the center of the table is an important part of how we understand food and hospitality.
What dishes do you recommend?
Some of our signature dishes include our mole coloradito enmoladas, house chicharrón, stuffed pasilla peppers, tlayudas and rotating kitchen specials.

Yes. We offer several vegetarian options and can also guide guests through the menu depending on their preferences.
